The Otto Beatty Jr. Men’s Shop promotes and supports the economic independence of disadvantaged men. Otto Beatty Jr. was an icon in the community committed to uplifting those in need especially men of color. According to Congresswoman Beatty, “Otto wholeheartedly believed that dressing in professional attire can change how a person feels about themselves and how they are perceived by others, and this is the vision that our family wishes to bring to the Otto Beatty Jr. Men’s Shop.” The Beatty family has donated his sizable collection of suits, dress shirts, dress shoes, and professional attire to IMPACT to work with approximately 300 underserved men a year attempting to recover from the economic recession while providing much needed wrap around services. Funding from Franklin County will be used for capital support of the Shop including expenses related to the construction of the expansion to support the Men’s Shop. Thanks to the Franklin County Commissioners and the Beatty Family, we are off to an amazing start. To keep it going, we are making opportunities available to everyone who wants to participate in supporting the Men's Shop!
